Castle Forbes shaving cream

Posted in Shaving at 4:09 pm by LeisureGuy

Castle Forbes produces two shaving creams: lavender and lime, of which I have so far tried but the lavender, and that only yesterday. It is pricey, but lands! what rich and wonderful lather you do get from it. You can get it at Knox Cigar and Sesto Senso. Great present for traditional shavers.

Another lovely shaving cream, but as you said pricey. These delightful products are also available at QEDUSA and Champs Elysees Cosmetics, amongst others on-line. If you enjoyed the lather, the aftershave balm is a must. WOnderfully soothing and moisturizing with lavender EO, lime EO, and also scented with Castle Forbes 1445 fragrance.

I have been trying several products but the one that works best for me is Castle Forbes. I bought all three scents plus 1445. When I shave with Castle Forbes, there is zero burn. Pricey but worth it.

It’s definitely nice stuff—and it was the shaving cream I used for the lather shown in the book’s cover photograph. The lavender, as it happened, which has a sort of medicinal acrid fragrance I don’t really like, though the lather is great. I subsequently (and recently) discovered Tryphon Lavender Shaving Cream, which has a extremely pleasant floral lavender fragrance—to my nose, much nicer. You might give that a try at some point: it’s not pricey, and is quite good.
