Multivitamins evaluated
I take a daily multivitamin. The Center for Science in the Public interest did a good survey of multivitamins (PDF file) in January 2003, and on checking their Web site, I don’t see anything more recent. I do follow their advice, though. Take a look…
UPDATE: Note that you should also avoid supplements contaminated with lead.

I recently attended a lecture given by a director of a research center on aging, he has a Ph.D. and an MD. His advice was not to take a multivitamin if your under the age of 70 and have no proven deficiency. However, he did not give a specific article reference in his lecture. The reasons he gave for the recommendation were essentially the same as your “antioxident” post which basically says that pill form antioxidants are not the same as those found in natural foods.
