Handy Windows cardfile program

with one comment

From Bob Slaughter on the Razor and Brush messsage board, this useful tip: the AZZ Cardfile program (Windows only). It looks useful, and the price isn’t bad: $19.

AZZ Cardfile is Windows program that helps manage any personal information like addresses, phone numbers, references, notes, recipes.

It can serve as personal organizer, contact manager, address book, rolodex, personal information manager (PIM) or small database software. Replaces Microsoft Cardfile.

Modern customizable user interface, ease of use and extensive features makes this information management software equally suitable for business office or home use.

Simple and powerful, totally customizable organizer software without predefined fields, Recipe Software, Contacts Database, Address Book, Rolodex, Contact Management Software, Simple Database, Organizer for Notes, References or any other items.

  1. There are two really great features of this software:

    1. The record size on any card is unlimited.

    2. You can search for any character string in the file you are in.

When I read something I want to reference in the future I put extracts or the whole item in a card headed by author and title. No need for key words, etc. – Character search makes this unnecessary.

I urge all to consider setting up a family member medical file. You know how frustrating it is to recall dates and circumstances years after the fact.

On recipes this program really shines. You will have great fun setting up a category files and putting recipies on cards in that file.

It has made it possible to tackle the daunting task of evaluating razors and blades. You cannot keep track of the number of combinations composed of 24 different blades in 4 or 5 different razors, in your head. If you can you are some kind of savant an probably don’t even need a computer.
