Virus worries

My computer has seemed to be busy doing unknown things lately, and naturally I worry that, unbeknownst to me, it’s sending tons of emails as a zombie. So I looked around for something to augment my current protection (Webroot Spysweeper with Antivirus) and came across this highly regarded program (but new to me): ThreatFire, which I found via this list. I downloaded the free version and am running it now.
