Best online places to play and learn chess
I haven’t talked much about chess, though I was an enthusiast (of no great strength) for years. Here’s a good list of chess sites.
What's hard to endure is sweet to recall.

Although I’ve always been a bad player, I once read up on the subject pretty thoroughly–or so I thought. Imagine my embarrassment when playing at a cafe with my step-kids, one of them advanced her pawn to my end of the board and announced that it was now a queen. I insisted that this was not a real rule of chess, and even bet her $20 that it wasn’t. Of course when I pulled out the iPhone and googled it on the spot I had to fork over the $20. Ouch!

I have one set that came with two Queens, for those occasions when a second Queen is called for. I wonder if any master games ended up with one side having more than two Queens on the board at any time.
