Should I split this blog?
From time to time I’ve heard from readers who were interested in a single strand of this blog (e.g., politics only, shaving only, movies only, food and cooking only, etc.), suggesting that I have multiple blogs, each a single-interest blog.
Certainly that’s easily done: WordPress.com will allow me to have multiple blogs, and then each blog would be separate by category. I do think I’d probably have to have a “Misc” blog.
But what do you think?
Am I wrong in assuming that this is generally coming from shaving enthusiasts who don’t share your political views? If that’s the case then perhaps just having a political blog and an everything else blog would be the solution. Or just having a shaving blog and an everything else blog. (Although it’s harder to see that split working, as you don’t have enough shaving posts to make a whole blog out of it, do you?)
Me, I’m fine with things as they are, but I don’t have strong feelings against splitting, either.

Your blog, as it is, is who you are. I don’t think you should split it – you didn’t get to this point in your life to have to hide portions of your personality to make other people happy. (Except for me, of course.) If readers don’t like certain topics, they can filter.

Don’t SPLIT. I’ve learned too much being exposed to the whole man. Selection by category should satisfy those who feel otherwise.

Keep as is. It’s a nice collection of shaving, politics, science, and food. And Megs, of course. I know where to find single-topic sites.

Agreeing with the wife is always the best course of action.
While I’m not particularly interested in the shaving posts, I know how to pass over them. Those who are offended by your political posts are most in need of seeing them.
I say “don’t split”.

No need to split the blog. Its so easy to simply sort the postings by topic anyway, just by using the Category Search box.
