Patchouli and June Clover

You’ve seen previously the Harvard 3 Best, the Patchouli shave stick, and Booster’s fine June Clover aftershave. But the razor might be new to you: I’m using it for the first time. It’s a US-made Gillette, very like a Super Speed—or a Milord, since it’s gold-plated—but with an open comb instead of a guard bar. I loaded it with a Treet Black Beauty, and it did a fine job. It seemed slightly better than the regular Super Speed, but it’s hard to be sure.

At any rate, a fine shave with a “new” razor.

  1. “June Clover”? I think I may be in love again! :) What’s that smell like and were does one get?

  2. The fragrance is one of my favorites. I got it from Shaving Essentials, and they are VERY nice people to deal with. I also highly recommend J.M.Fraser shaving cream, which they also sell. Tell them I sent you. They may have small sized samples—that’s what got me hooked. I had ordered something else, and they sent me that sample.

  3. Oh, cool: when I verified the link, I saw that they have a Booster Aftershaves sampler pack: a small sample of each of the aftershaves. That’s a very good idea. I highly recommend.
