Short BBC video and Firefox puzzle

with 2 comments

Nice little video. I would have blogged it, but my Firefox seems to have developed partial amnesia. Formerly, I had a toolbar just beneath the Navigation Bar and the Bookmarks Toolbar where I parked quite a few buttons—the Foxly URL-abbreviating button, the VideoPod blog-a-video button, and others. That toolbar has vanished without a trace, taking the buttons with it, though those extensions are still installed (as I can see from Tools, Add-ons). No idea where the bar went. :sigh:

  1. On the toolbar at the top, look at View -> Toolbars.
See which options are checked, and check uncheck as needed.

  2. The toolbar doesn’t show me an option for the missing toolbar (which is why The Wife thinks it must have been an add-on). I just uninstalled and reinstalled Firefox: no joy. And pop-up boxes are remaining blank (e.g., “enlarge image” (at NY Times) and “Leave a comment” (on Blogspot blogs that use a popup for the comment). Popup box opens with “about:blank” in the heading, and the box remains blank. I think perhaps the new computer will fix some of this.)

BTW, SC, I have some math books that might be interesting to your daughter, now or later. Let me know your mailing address and I’ll ship.
