Excellent. As my grandmother often said, “Slow and steady wins the race.”
My adding 30 seconds a day seems to work. It all goes much better once you reach 12 minutes and the training effect starts in working. Keep us posted.

but when you get to 15, maintain for a week. Slow and steady…

My plan is to hold at 15 min through August. Then, beginning 1 September, I’ll add 30 seconds a day, so that by 30 September I’ll have added 15 minutes and be at 30 min a day. I may just keep it there permanently.

I would work up a little more slowly — at each 5 min mark, I would give yourself a week before advancing. Once you reach 30 mins, if you did want to increase more I would do so by larger raw amounts, but keep it in perspective and think in terms of % increase. You are talking about doubling your workout in a very short amount of time. Enthusiasm is good, but can be dangerous and derail your overall workout. Remember, it was only 2 days ago when you were noticing the struggle after 8 mins.

Good point. And I like the idea of 7 days at each 5-minute mark. Easy to remember, and overall progress is still ensured. Plus, obviously, gives the body a chance to catch up.
