Smooth and easy shave
Very pleasant shave. The Semogue 2000 boar brush still is early in the break-in, but I got a fine Creamy Lather. The brush capacity is still not great, so I returned to the soap to make more lather for the third pass. The iKon used the Personna 74 blade I used yesterday in the Goodfella head, transferred today to the iKon head. Very nice shave, and the iKon head is better (but then the iKon is a pricier razor). A splash of the Alt Innsbruck, and I’m ready to take The Niece to the airport for her departure.

I’m a little disappointed in my Semogue 2000 but I persist because I find it is a nice looking brush. But I don’t get the nice lather I get with my VieLong horsebrush or even my synthetic Omega brush. This last one creates a lot of lather for 3 passes and I can even wash my glasses and my son’s glasses with one last squueze of very creamy lather.

Yeah, I never got it to work right last time and eventually passed the brush along. This time I’m more determined to make it work, so we’ll see. But I agree: I’ve had excellent success with the horsehair brushes. In fact, tomorrow I think I’ll use a horsehair badger.

Give it time, the 2000 will deliver, it is an outstanding brush.
