Interesting and disturbing: GasLand
I’m watching GasLand via Netflix Watch Instantly. Well-made, informative, and (as noted) disturbing: we are now seeing some of the outcomes of the 2005 Energy Bill that Dick Cheney pushed through and that gave oil and gas companies exemption from the Clean Air Act, the Clean Water Act, the Safe Drinking Water Act, and scores of other environmental protections. Given a free rein to destroy the environment in exchange for increasing profits, the companies have not hesitated.
The costs will be evident in the future, but this documentary made last year (and nominated for an Oscar) will let you see now what is happening.
The promise of the US is being drained away by greed and stupidity winning by virtue of their invaluable allies, ignorance and apathy.
Cool interview with founder of StraightRazorPlace.com
Cool way to find inexpensive flights
This works much better than other sites I’ve found.
Super Speed week begins with a fine shave
This week is Super Speeds. I begin with the flare tip above. This new Nikon doesn’t focus terribly well, I notice. So it goes.
The Wee Scot had no problems producing a very good lather from the Mitchell’s Wool Fat, and the Super Speed with a previously used Rapira blade did a good three-pass shave. I don’t find the Rapira so sharp as some of the other blades I use, but of course YMMV.
A splash of Shaving Shop, and I’m ready to get to work.
