Jubilee in the morning
Yet another terrific shave. I think the AlsShaving.com shaving creams contribute quite a bit to the success of the shaves: very slick, protective, and fragrant lather seems to issue forth from them. Jubilee, this morning’s sample, is more exotic in fragrance than Goodfellas:
A very complex blend of essential oils rendering an exuberantly intoxicating scent with notes from all our scents in the line. This scent is exuberant with incredible complexity. The top is made with bergamot and orange notes with hints of cinnamon and sage. Jasmine, neroli, bay and hints of chamomile and geranium form the heart. Cedar and vetiver make the base. This is a very unique and complex offering.
I liked it a lot—the hint of vetiver helps, and the citrus combines well with the spice. Altogether a fine fragrance, and the Omega Baby Pro shown had no problem in generating ample lather and keeping it well supplied for more passes than I would need: three did the job for me, using the Gerson buffalo-horn-handled razor (with the new EJ head) and a previously used Swedish Gillette blade.
A hearty splash of Alt-Innsbruck, and I am ready for a good week.

Do you soak any of your boars or just wet them and leave them sitting? Thanks

I soak them by wetting them thoroughly and then standing them, soaking wet, on the back of the sink. Formerly, I would stop up the sink, run water into it to a depth of a couple of inches, and then leave the brush in the water. Either way works, and (of course) I suggest experimenting: a week one way, a week the other, and back to the first way for a third week. Then decide which you prefer.
