Katie
The last photo in this little series about Katie the Canadian Kitty. Bye for now, Katie. (I like to think that she’s giving a little kitty roar, and all the field mice are trembling in their burrows.)

Katie, looking over her domain. The great cats manage their territories, even to caring (in a way) for the flocks/herds of their prey: they watch over them, and their behavior after killing one shows considerable respect and affection for the animal which is, after all, their source of life. Katie similarly is monitoring her territory, eager to protect the little animals that are her prey from any marauder attempting to invade her territory. (Katie, for all her cuteness and gentleness, has had some serious fights with cats who thought they could just sashay in and take over some of her territory (and prey).)
Katie the Canadian Kitty enjoys relaxing. I’ve noticed this same behavior in other cats. Katie’s a moggie, but a most happy moggie: good home, interesting surroundings, tolerant humans—life is good. Of course, often—when you’ve just gotten totally relaxed—something very interesting runs by, or makes a little rustling noise…
You will note that Katie, like Sophie, has googly eyes.
Here, as promised, is another photo of Katie the Canadian Kitty. She’s at the pond built by my brother-in-law. They all live together on Salt Spring Island, and Katie regularly hunts small and timid woodland creatures around the house—life is tough.
This is Katie the Canadian Kitty and her BFF Elf. (Elf’s the one on the right.) They live on Salt Spring Island BC. This is a teaser: Katie will be the featured kitty in next week’s cat-blogging. Be sure to stop by. (Long-time readers of the blog will recognize this photo as a rerun from version 1.0. I’m using it just to introduce Katie to the new crowd. Next week’s photos are all new.)
