Did you use the free Kindle conversion option? If so, I believe that's a barebones option with no linking. I had published my book with CreateSpace, and so I could talk to them about the problem. I subsequently paid CreateSpace a modest fee to do a "complex conversion" which has active links, etc. Kindle was then able to offer early purchasers a free upgrade to the better version. I don't know how much of that applies for you---for example, you may have published Kindle-only, and I know little about that.

I see you avoided any comment on the substance of the post: that it is undeniable that the GOP fraudulently altered the email messages. I've noticed that fans of the GOP have to avoid looking at the actions of their party and never, ever respond to the substance of the charges. They can't. So their typical response is the one you so clearly illustrate: personal abuse. It's all you have: you certainly cannot discuss the facts.

Don't you ever wonder why you cannot discuss the actual event and evidence? Don't you feel, when you have to fall back immediately to personal abuse as your only response, that your on a sinking ship?

I do feel sorry, to some degree, to those who have given their loyalty to (and associated their identity with) a party that so fails the smell test is just about everything it does. OTOH, i think even you must recognize that your response is rude and beside the point. Whatever socialist tendencies I have, the fact remains that the GOP has no sense of integrity, as demonstrated by their own actions.

TL;DR: I know why you don't want to discuss what your party does.

And the day does indeed look to be a good one. Thanks.

UPDATE: James Fallows describes the GOP response (and your own) quite well in <a href="http://www.motherjones.com/kevin-drum/2013/05/obama-responsible-culture-intimidation" target="_blank" rel="nofollow">this post</a>. Thought you might be interested. Again: note the facts recounted. Respond to those if you are able.

UPDATE 2: The offense by the GOP was not so severe as I thought. See update link in the post.

Problems with lie detector tests were known - and proven - long before the McClatchy report. One of the TV stations in San Francisco did an investigative report on lie detector tests. They took two groups of people and subjected them to lie detector tests, conducted by a trained professional. One group lied during the test and the other group told the truth. Of the group that lied, half were found to be lying, the other half were found to be telling the truth. The results were the same for the group that told the truth. A 50 percent accuracy rate is terrible. Fifty percent is a failing grade, an F on the test.

That was about 20 or 25 years ago, if I recall correctly. Although technology has advanced since then, the metrics used by lie detector tests have not changed all that much.

I have been wet shaving a while now and it is truly a fantastic way to start the day. I look forward to it every day. I used to hate shaving. My favorite razor is a Merkur Futur with a Kent BLK8 silvertip brush. Creams, soaps aftershave splash and balms, well I have a lot of them all and love variety.

It depends on whether the purpose of food aid is to help those who need the food or to increase agribusiness profits. I pick the former, and as the article points out, giving the money can not only feed the recipients more effectively, it can also help them develop their own resources.

OTOH, if the goal is to enrich agribrusiness corporations, then the way we're doing it is better.

I agree in some cases shipping food works, but from the information at the link, our current methods, when examined in the light of the stated objectives, have serious flaws.

In general, Congress is too much in thrall to big corporations, and that includes the agricultural industry: cf. the food bill.

PS: <a href="http://www.alternet.org/print/food/soda-industry-cashes-govt-food-assistance-programs-tune-4-bilion-year" target="_blank" rel="nofollow">A good example of what I mean</a>.

If this program were being run with a motive above profit (and there is nothing wrong with profit) so that speedy aid counted as the primary objective, it could do better. Spending our tax dollars on our own producers makes sense. The same is true of spending defense dollars on domestic producers. There is no need for the time spent in delivery/transit to be so long. Bullets get where they are needed much faster, I am sure. We can offer concurrent assistance in food production in some of the regions that need help, but why not use our our own commodity products when they are needed? People who want a project to work will make sure it does. A program to feed drought-stricken populations is hardly likely to produce food from a drought-stricken land. And certainly no sooner. I also wonder how much food shortage is a result of war, rather than crop failure. A war zone is not conducive to food production. Evacuation removes the farmers from their fields. One last point: "Product of USA" stamped on a sack of food carries some weight, too. Not to sound cynical, but if you want people to help, they need to have the opportunity, congressmen not excepted. If they don't produce some benefits for constituents, they won't get re-elected.
While I am a certified liberal, I am also aware of the political realities. Not everything is best judged solely on "efficiency" when "effectiveness" is to be considered in the long view. I have little enough use for the provincicalism of some congressmen, but this issue is far from the worst problem we have.

I have some "Gillette 7 O’Clock SharpEdge" blades, in yellow boxes.
Is that the same?
