Exercise plan

I’ve got to exercise. No doubt about it. So I was particularly taken with this post at Zen Habits on how to (re)build an exercise habit.

So: the exercise will be walking, the trigger lunch. My goal is to work up to 45 minutes, 5 days a week (M-F). I will start by walking one block from here, then back. I’ll add a block a day until I reach 45 minutes. If I find this is going too fast, I can stop adding a block for a while until I’m ready to resume.

In addition to the walking, I should do some strength training. I’ve been impressed by Miriam Nelson’s various books on the topic (and even have some). But I think I’ll hold off on that until 1 October, then work it in on MWF.
