The Zen of shaving

with 2 comments

Today I advanced further in the Zen of shaving: the shaving of not-shaving. A quick wash of my face, dry, a splash of aftershave (just for the fragrance), and away to make the coffee, now at my side.

I decided I wanted to have a two-day stubble again. So tomorrow here’s my plan: the D.R. Harris Marlborough shave stick…

  1. Michael, this is something I do every week, just to let my face rest. I am an evening shaver and I usually skip Friday nights. Sometimes I skip Saturday, too.

When I skip Friday and shave again on Saturday, I almost always find the Saturday shave to be my best of the week.

  2. Can non-shaving be a type of shaving, Grasshopper? If someone shaves and there’s no one to see it…has he really shaved? Sounds ripe for a Haiku:

    The razor,
    The blade,
A monkey peels his banana! 🙂
