More free on-line language learning

with one comment

The number of on-line resources for language learning continues to grow. The new one is Babbel [sic], but I’ve also mentioned Mango Languages and the Rosetta Stone courses that many libraries offer at no cost (through their on-line catalogs). Babbel limits itself to Spanish, English, French, German, and Italian. No Esperanto, alas. (It wouldn’t be that difficult to add, so come on, guys.)

  1. A couple others to try… LiveMocha is getting a lot of buzz lately for mixing flash card style learning with social networking. Also, we’re launching the eduFire soon which will make it easier and more affordable than ever to have a private language tutor. In the meantime we’ve created a blog with hundreds of free videos, podcasts, etc. to help learn languages.
