Mouse double-clicking

with 4 comments

For some reason my mouse has begun double-clicking from time to time—fairly often, in fact. I do a single click, but that results in a double-click. I uninstalled recent software, but the behavior persists. Any thoughts on a possible fix?

UPDATE: Problem fixed by turning mouse off and then turning it back on.

  1. Try going to the mouse settings and adjust the dbl click speed.
Could it be hardware? Do you have another mouse to try?

  2. I tried adjusting the double-click speed, but I don’t think that’s the problem. I also downloaded an update for my MX Revolution software and installed that, restarting the computer. Still doing it. I’ll putter around with other things. Good idea on trying another mouse. I’ll dig up my old Microsoft mouse and try that. Thanks.

  3. Just had this happen last week or so.
In addition to the first suggestion, if you have TweakUI, increase Mouse/Menu Speed. That, and some compressed air in my mouse’s ribcage, did the trick.

  4. I have tried switching the mouse primary and secondary button and getting good results from that mouse!
