The shaving collection

with 13 comments

A commenter mentioned that he wish he had room in his bathroom for a shaving collection. I have to admit that I don’t really have room for it, as these photos attest. Click photos to enlarge; click enlargement for actual pixels.

In addition, there’s the top of the chest of drawers holding quite a collection (including a big batch of Honeybee Spa shaving sticks) and a box of razors and a smaller box of  packs of razor blades.

To forestall a question: The Wife has her own bathroom.

  2. Thank you, thank you, thank you….you make all our collections appear paltry and rational. Whenever I buy something in the future, my line to my wife will be, “Its nowhere near the size of Michael’s collection!”

  3. My wife looked at your photos and asked if perhaps you had an office chair in there too, hence the need for the phone and PDA 🙂

  4. And my wife approves. (She has a handbag collection: fewer items, but more expensive.) No office chair in there, though. 🙂 The phone turns out to be handy (you’ll note that the better hotels always have a phone in the bathroom). The PDA is actually a digital clock (self-setting, of course, from the atomic clock).

  5. UnFreakin’ believable!! I cast my eyes down for I am not worthy of his grace, his most excellent lord of shaving. 🙂

  6. Really, guys, if you’re writing a book on shaving, you do have to try things. It was all in the name of research…

  7. I’m practically speechless! You must have enough soap and aftershave to last 20 lumberjacks a lifetime of shaving! None of them would have to share a brush or razor, either! I assume that the sliding doors house your collection of blades? Where do you stage your SOTD photos?

  8. The blade collection is in a drawer, with the overflow in a box. The photos are taken on top a little bookcase in the hallway.

  9. Research? And I read Playboy for the articles! 🙂

  10. Hey Michael, wait a minute! Don’t you live in California? Geez, these things look singularly vulnerable to earthquakes, especially the soap, creams, and aftershaves! Do you put up steel shutters at night like they do in New York City storefronts?

  11. If my wife ever complains about the room my shaving collection takes up, then I’m showing hr these pictures.
    Truly impressive!

  12. Madre de Dios! The legends are true! I’m definitely showing my wife. You and your wife have a heluva deal worked out! I’ll try the purses/research angle but I don’t think it’s going to work in my case. Thanks for those pics!

  13. Thanks for sharing your den with us. Also, thanks for conducting open research on so many products so us “more humble folks” can benefit. It’s nice you have a great relationship with your wife. My wife also lets me enjoy my shaving hobby and I support her in her endeavors. Perhaps you’ll see my den some day when it becomes worthy of your highness.
