Exotic shaving soap
After reading this post at BruceOnShaving.com, I had to try the Otoko Organics shaving soap—and it’s very nice indeed. No perfume fragrance at all, so far as I could detect, but creates a fine lather and it shaves well. Lots of details at the link. Shipment received from Australia in record time—about the same as if I ordered from a domestic vendor.
Three passes with the Pils holding a previously used Swedish Gillette blade, a splash of Stetson Classic, and then I’m ready to study more Spanish.
BruceOnShaving.com’s latest article is on brush size. Do you have a preference? I think your current beginner recommendation is the Omega 643167: 22mm knot, 50mm loft.

That’s the size I like, but of course different shavers have different preferences. I once had a Rooney 3 Size 3 and finally sold it. Tomorrow I’ll use the Rooney 3 Size 2 I still have. Even that is a little too large for my personal preference.

I’m very interested in Otoko Organics soap. Could you give it another go? Is is more lubricated than a typical cream?

I shall. My initial impression is that its lubricity is somewhat less than some other soaps I’ve used—less, say, than some of the high-end tallow soaps. But it’s still quite nice, and of course it’s an intriguing soap to have.

Leisureguy,
Thanks for your positive feedback on our Wet shave essentials. We are finding major acceptance with long time users of traditional soaps and cremes. In reference to comparisions of tallow soaps let me just say that we are nothing like nor do we wish have a heavy chemical type lather found with tallow soaps. What we have aimed for and I think achieved is a natural, fresh lather minus traditional chemicals and manufactured fragrances. I sincerely hope you give our Wet shave essentials a daily work out and see how you skin feels after a few weeks. I think you will be impressed.
Again thank you for your positive comments and many happy shaves to you 🙂
