Kabuki brush didn’t work
The goat-hair kabuki brush did not work, for whatever reason. It has been used as a cosmetic brush, but I did wash it out. Still: no lather. I fell back upon one of my H. Thäter brushes, which are excellent, and got a fine lather from the Floris No. 89 (old formulation). I did add a small driblet of water to the center of the brush as I worked up the lather: this soaps loads quickly and wonderfully.
Three very smooth passes wiped away the two-day stubble with an Astra Superior Platinum blade, and I finished with a good splash of Floris No. 89 aftershave. The Floris No. 89 is in honor of the new James Bond movie, this being the fragrance he reputedly favored.
I updated the Rango description to point out more excellences of the movie.
What would you say of the staying power of the Floris No. 89 aftershave? I really think the fragrance description sounds fantastic (at least to my mental nose), and am looking for a new aftershave to try.

It’s pretty good. Strong, then fades but some sticks around. Not so much staying power as, say, Pashana (but, of course, a very different fragrance).
