Count me out. The blurb:

A mere six-pack doesn’t cut it in Hollywood anymore. Today’s male stars need 5 percent body fat, massive pecs, and the much-coveted inguinal crease – regardless of what it takes to get there.

Ending the Stealth test week with a BBS shave

with one comment

SOTD 3 May 2014

An extremely nice shave today. I took the two nicks I got yesterday as a sign I needed to replace the blade: some blades bite as they die. So this morning I loaded a SuperMax Titanium and got a lovely shave with nary a nick.

The lather was superb. My R&B Omega boar brush now seems fully broken in, and it’s a wonderful brush. We probably shall not see its like again for a long time, so if you like boar brushes—or would like to try a great one—I recommend that you get one while they are still available. $29 is a low price for a brush of this quality. I suspect much of the great feel of the brush is due to using unclipped bristles. Note that it will take a couple of weeks to hit its stride: mine, when new, had some lathercidal tendencies, but those now are completely absent.

I like the Beach shaving soap, which (interestingly) is a kind of collaboration with Joe of Italian Barber and thus bears the RazoRock name. The explanation is found at the catalog listing, which includes the list of (impressive) ingredients:

Ingredients: Kokum Butter, Organic Mango Butter, Organic Cocoa Butter, Organic Avocado Oil, Organic Pumpkin Oil, Organic Castor Oil, Coconut Oil, Palm Oil, Organic Neem Oil, Safflower Oil, Glycerine, Purified Water, Sodium & Potassium Hydroxide, Soy bean protein, Chaulmoogra Oil, Aloe Extract, Maca Root, Yellow Dock Root, Essential/Fragrance Oils

Compare that to your current lather source. (Canned foam cannot come close.)

The Stealth worked fine. I didn’t have to think about the angle at all today—I did listed to the sound of the razor and work, which gave me good feedback on the angle. No nicks, great shave, fine feel. This razor is really ready to ship, IMO. While I might tinker with this or that—tinkering can go on indefinitely—no big issues have been found. In the “tinkering” realm, I would be interested in a fluted handle, where the ridges and valleys run the length of the handle instead of around the handle. I’m also unsure about the spacing of the ridges and valleys at the base of the handle. But in terms of a razor delivering performance you can love, this one hits the mark.

The test period is over, and the Stealth enters my regular rotation.
