CallCentric VOIP Service

with 5 comments

Cool Tools has a nice write-up of an innovative and inexpensive VOIP phone service. We went with AT&T U-verse since we wanted fast Internet and just threw in the phone as well, but after the first-year contract ends, I’m certainly going to look at alternatives for phone.

  1. Hmmm, I must just be missing a whole swath of your blog from 27 May to now since this one is also from the 27th. May have something to do with my end. Just last month switched from a very old XP on a Dell PC to a very new Apple iMac. You never know what can happen in the translation! But every time I have looked at your blog, the dates have been 3-5 days old. How very bizarre.

  2. That is really weird. So when you go to, the date on the post at the top is like 4 days old?

  3. Oh, you know what? When I bookmarked it, I bookmarked only, without the http://, and clicking on leisure gives me posts from your blog that are 4 days old and older but not the latest ones. When I just now clicked on the link you put in your comment, with the http, it takes me to the latest entries in your blog. This must be a weirdity of a Mac because on my old machine, I didn’t need to bother with http. I’ll change my bookmark, thanks!

  4. Oops! Erase what I just said. When I went to edit that bookmark, I found out that I had accidentally bookmarked page 6 of your blog! That explains it – my bad. Page 6 would indeed always be about 4 or 5 days off. Cheesh!

  5. How odd. But glad you found the problem. I switched to a MacBook a couple of years ago. It was quite strange at first, but now I find it quite comfortable. I used Diet Controller from the App Store to track my nutrition. Let me strongly recommend the (free) program Notational Velocity. I leave it running all the time. When you arrive, cursor is in search bar. As you type, the search is done and if nothing is found, what you’re typing is the heading of a new note; press Enter and your cursor is positioned at the beginning of the notes field, ready to type a new entry. I use it constantly now.
