Alcohol is still the deadliest drug in the United States, and it’s not even close

We all know that alcohol, the true gateway drug to violent crime and drug abuse, is more dangerous than marijuana, but I was surprised to see how much more dangerous alcohol is. Does D.A.R.E. discuss alcohol, and give more time to discussing alcohol than discussing marijuana, since alcohol is not only more dangerous, but more readily available? I wonder. (Actually, I bet I know.)

  1. Besides us, & the medical community, how many others can fathom how dangerous this crap is?

  2. And yet in moderate use (say, one glass of wine with dinner each day), it seems to promote health and also prolong life. Moderation seems to be the key to a lot of things… 🙂

  3. Granted, but due to Hep C, & other physical /mental issues, there are lots of individuals who should never have started, or should stop now. They, & society overall would be better “served”. If they could nullify the harmful chemicals, & stop drunkenness & hangovers, then it would be Utopia for all the “wets”. Prohibition was like today’s inane war on drugs, & look how many prospered from others’ miseries.
