Why I like having a stove

leave a comment »

I felt a bit peckish, and the local Nob Hill deli had finally gotten in 5 oz boxes of diced prosciutto. Using what was on hand:

In 8″ sauté pan:

5 oz prosciutto

Cook over medium high heat, stirring, until starting to brown. Then add:

1/2 large white onion, cut into slabs and then each slap into 3 sections
4 large cloves garlic, minced
salt
pepper
cayenne pepper (good shake)

Cook for 5-10 minutes, then add:

1 c green beans, cut into 1″ sections and then steamed 9 minutes
6 cherry tomatoes, halved

Cook for 5-10 minutes, stirring often. Then sprinkle with shredded Monterey Jack + Mild Cheddar, put the lid on, and cook 3 minutes or so, until cheese melts.

If I made it again, I would probably hit with a splash of Worcestershire before adding the cheese.
