Executive Man and Sharp-Dressed Man, along with the iKon 101

Today’s shave combines two Stirling shaving soaps, Executive Man and Sharp-Dressed Man, in a 3:1 ratio. I like the combination, but I like also each separately, so this is me playing with the soap, basically, just to see the effect.

My Vie-Long horsehair shaving brush easily worked up a very nice lather and had plenty in the brush for the entire shave. And the iKon Shavecraft #101 continues to impress me: extremely comfortable, no problems at all, and a fine BBS result. This razor should be more popular than it is, but it has a modest demeanor.

Three enjoyable passes, rinse, dry, and a good splash of Executive Man, and the day begins.

Thursday will be a travel day, and from then until the following Tuesday The Wife and I will be visiting her family in Canada for Thanksgiving.

  1. No matter how many times I use the #101, the open comb side never shaves as close as the closed comb side.

  2. Interesting. I don’t really feel a difference in the two sides, so I just switch back and forth between them. At the end of the shave, it’s all smooth.
