Semogue Owners Club, Nuàvia Verde, and the RazoRock Old Type

I really dislike Semogue boar brushes, and I’m puzzled by their popularity. I’ve been breaking in this Semogue Owners Club for a while, and it still will not hold lather for a three-pass shave. Omega boar brushes are, for me, much better.

I did get a very nice lather from the Nuàvia shaving soap, and the performance of the RazoRock Old Type was, as usual, stellar. That razor is a terrific bargain: $15 and extremely comfortable and efficient.

A splash of Lavanda, and I’m ready for the day.

  1. Here in Montreal you can buy PRoraso soaps and creams and Omega brushes at drugstores. The Omega brush starts performing well right from the box’. No breaking period. Semogue brushes are nice to look at but are not so reliable. And some like the Semogue 2000 are hopeless.

  2. I also have a Semogue Owners Club. It is worthless for shaving but makes a great brush to clean my coffee grinder.
