Another classic shave: Simpson Persian Jar, Lenthéric shaving soap, 1940’s Gillette Aristocrat, and Creed Green Irish Tweed

Classic products for a classic shave: The Simpson Persian Jar 2 Super is a very fine silvertip brush, and Lenthéric’s wonderful fragrance is still strong in this vintage soap for 40 or so years ago, easily producing a lather both fragrant and creamy.

The 1940’s Gillette Aristocrat shown here is the same one shown on the cover of the Guide shown at the right, and it’s a wonderful razor: comfortable and efficient, well-made and attractive. Three passes went well and left a perfectly smooth result.

Several sprays of Creed’s Green Irish Tweed into the palm of my hand, then applied as an aftershave, and it’s beginning to feel a lot like Christmas.

Best wishes to you for a happy holiday season and a healthy and prosperous new year.
