Watching Rango again, and struck by its Don Quixote spirit

It’s really worth watching, and watching thoughtfully. Having read Don Quixote helps in watching the movie, as in so much else.  Rango! [mariachi band] This time I gave up and purchased it.

  1. The best animated movie by far in my opinion

  2. It really does go for the archetypes in a mythic/epic way. Plus I love all the movie references. And the showing off of animation excellence: the hair (including moustaches), the view through a glass of water, the sound effect of Rango sliding along the road on a piece of glass and bumping into the mannequin, etc. And the mariachi Chorus is a great touch.
