Multi-nation shave: Portugal, England, France, Italy, and Germany

First I washed my stubble at the sink with MR GLO (Portugal), as I always do.

Mr Pomp (England) is a terrific brush that, among other things, showed me how nice a polo handle can be, and Le Père Lucien (France) made a very nice lather, though light on the fragrance. This is another “use a brush that’s merely damp” shaving soap.

The Testina Gentile (Italy) is a very nice razor indeed and is becoming one of my favorites: very comfortable, very efficient, and with good heft. All are made of plated brass, mine being the chrome model. They’re also available plated in gold or black chrome.

Three passes, perfectly smooth finish, not even the threat of a nick. A splash of Speick (Germany) and the shave was done.

I continue to think a good shave is a great way to start the morning.

  2. Fatip states it has a hollow handle, but brass has good heft. Is the balance good?

  3. I found the balance totally satisfactory.
