Omega’s Mixed (badger and boar) Midget with Alt-Eleven and an old iKon open-comb

leave a comment »

I was reading in Wicked Edge a comment about the Omega Mixed Midget, so I decided to use mine. I do soak the knot (because of the boar content—I normally don’t soak badger knots) by wetting the knot well under the hot-water tap and letting the brush stand while I shower.

The lather from Phoenix Artisan’s Crown King line is excellent and immediate, and I very much like the green-tobacco fragrance of Alt-Eleven. In fact, I have Tcheon Fung Sing’s green-tobacco soap already on deck for Monday.

This is a very early iKon—I recall it as his third razor—and it is just superb. I must use it more often: extraordinarily comfortable and highly efficient.

A dot of the Alt-Eleven aftershave balm, and the weekend begins.
