Shave 2 with Alpha Ecliptic, comparison with Eros/Walbusch
I went with Meißner Tremonia’s Natural Bay Rum, using the Simpson Duke 3 Best to make the lather. Prep was good.
I brought out the 102 for a comparison photo, but I didn’t use it, only the Eros/Walbusch and the Phoenix Artisan Alpha Ecliptic.
The Eros and Ecliptic did feel much the same, and I did not note the slip issue of the last shave: they both did an easy job. I have ordered the Bakelite Ecliptic so I can compare it to the Eros, both being plastic, and will report on that eventually.
Overall, the Ecliptic does an excellent job, though for me it is not quite so comfortable as the 102, meaning that it requires a bit more care. My tremor was active this morning and as a result I did get a couple of small (very small) nicks. I can’t blame the razor for that.
A splash of Krampert’s Finest Acadian Bay Rum finished the shave and the week.
Not many razors are as comfortable as that 102.
