  3. My sister’s old band, Glossary, is in the Alternative Country artist group. I don’t know if that’s how they would have described themselves, but iI guess that’s a feature of broad “alternative” genres. Memetic intersection.

  4. Yeah, there’s a lot of cross-fertilization. DNA moves pretty freely among bacteria, as I recall, and similarly themes and styles move through genres. Very dynamic, fast evolution.
