The wonderful Stealth, with Rooney Emilion and D.R. Harris Arlington
This butterscotch Emilion is a terrific little brush, and it made the luxurious lather that D.R. Harris soaps produce in their Arlington fragrance: ” Arlington is a subtle blend of citrus and fern, created to be refreshing and stimulating, whilst not overwhelming. Notes of Lemon, Bergamot, Orange, Neroli, Rose and Musk.” Or, I would call it, “Citrus.”
I’m so happy that I was involved in traditional shaving when RazoRock/Italian Barber brought forth the Stealth, now sadly discontinued. Too bad, because it’s an absolutely marvelous razor. I even had a Stealth in stainless steel, which I at some point sold; this is one of the original machined-aluminum models, and it gives a superb shave. (I find I cannot comfortably use their current offering, the Wunderbar.)
Three passes easily (and comfortably) left my face perfectly smooth for the splash of lemon, bergamot, orange, neroli, rose, and musk. Great way to start the week.
Michael, how do you feel about razors that are a deep color, rather than a neutral color? I can’t decide, though I do like the appearance of my “red” colored Merkur 45 Bakelite razor.
I do think black razors look cool when they are pristine clean, but soap scum quickly spoils the appearance of a black colored razor.

I have razors in bronze (Fendrihan Mk II), graphite (Parker Semi-Slant), blue (Baby Smooth, Yaqi), gun-metal (Yaqi), gold (Mekur 37 and Progress), camouflage (Yaqi), and black (numerous). I like them all. Yaqi in particular offers razors in colors — the red and black double open comb on the page at the link is intriguing (perhaps partly because I liked Stendahl’s novel), and you’ll note they have have a lavender double open comb (which I order as a Christmas present for my niece). I think different colors are refreshing. Even in what you call “neutral,” we have nickel, rhodium, and silver — and I even had one that was plated with palladium.

I guess what you’re saying is it would be a boring world (razors and otherwise) if everything were the same or a similar color.
And I don’t disagree.

I just noticed that the brush used for this shave has a butterscotch handle (rather than one in the common ivory color)…. 🙂
