The following scenario seems not at all unlikely, given what we have seen in the past few years.

Some Propaganda Is Quite Good

My Edwin Jagger synthetic brush has over the years become more and more appealing, and this morning it easily created an excellent lather from Dr. Jon’s Handcrafted Propaganda. The lather has a wonderfule fragrance: vanilla, sandalwood, mandarin, patchouli, and musk. The puck I have is the good doctor’s Vol 3 formula:

Stearic Acid, Water, Castor Oil, Potassium Hydroxide, Shea Butter, Mango Butter, Babassu Oil, Sodium Lactate, Essential/Fragrance Oils, Sodium Hydroxide, Vegetable Glycerin, Myristyl Myristate, Avocado Oil, Sunflower Oil, Evening Primrose Oil, Grapeseed Oil, Jojoba Oil, Meadowfoam Oil, Soy Wax, Cucumber Extract, Licorice Extract, Candelilla Extract, Sodium PCA, Sensolene, Squalane, Slippery Elm Bark, Aloe Vera Concentrate, Citric Acid.

Gillette doesn’t seem to now how to make good handles for the current DE razors. The King C. Gillette handle I had to replace, and this Heritage handle (obviously modeled on one of the handles for the Gillette NEW) lacks the base treatment, typically a knob of some sort, that provides a good grip in the ATG pass. The head, though, is fine. Like the head of the King C. Gillette, it is a copy of the Mühle/Edwin Jagger head, which is excellent. It’s hard to see anything of value that Gillette has brought to modern DE razor design. – Update: It reminds of the professor telling the student, “Your paper has much original and good content in it, but of that, what’s original is not good and what’s good is not original.” So it is with Gillette’s modern-day DE razors.

Still, three passes later, I have a wonderfully smooth face, thanks to the Mühle/Edwin Jagger design and the excellence of the soap and lather, and a splash of Propaganda with a couple of squirts of Hydrating Gel finished the job.

The tea this morning Murchie’s Vanilla Jasmine: “A balanced blend of black, green and oolong teas, with an enticing aroma of vanilla, jasmine and magnolia.”

Today we’re going up-island to attend my grand-nephew’s second birthday, so little blogging.
