Goal-setting

Dustin Wax has a good post on setting goals, and specifically on setting SMART goals. (SMART is an acronym.) He casts it as goals for writing, but it applies to any goals you might set. But, in writing context, it makes sense to set goals for NaNoMo this fall, including goals to be completed well in advance, such as working out the timeline of your novel, entering character profiles in your software (and, BTW, did you score a free copy of Liquid Story Binder XE the other day?), and so on.
